Tea cakes with Apple Cinnamon Jelly

There is a wide variety and texture of tea cakes available in the market. If you go to India the tea cakes are more of a chunky texture much like cookies or biscuits made of flour. The famous tea cakes that are quite popular are the sponge variety often called as muffins or plum cakes etc. The sponge cake is perfect in sweetness and jells well with tea. Usually, the tea in India is milk tea with all the flavours infused like ginger and cardamom pods making the tea very aromatic. Whereas around the world tea is preferred as it is without the milk and to match it with cakes is quite a difficult job. Usually, people are served with cakes according to the flavour of the tea. For example if you are taking green tea you will often be advised to have a mint flavoured macaroon as it tastes best with it. For those who like herb infused tea then plum cakes with cherries or any kind of berry cake is preferred. For the flower infused teas usually chunky cookies go well with it. Keeping thi
